On Friday night, AM attended Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth where KAWS unveiled his latest show in the Lone Star state. The exhibition entitled Focus:KAWS is a mix of color and monotone works from the Brooklyn based artist including a previous series of tondos which made its way from this year’s Armory. Just the other night, the Alice Gallery in Brussels played host to a new body of work from Boris Tellegen aka Delta. The Amsterdam-based abstract graffiti specialist has been hitting up various parts of Europe recently with his art projects and shows including large-scale sculptural pieces in March at the Muziekgebouw Concert Hall in his home-city (covered) and then Basel, Switzerland for a showing at the kunstraum.ch artspace (covered) in July. Urban Outfitters – $10 Balloon Dog Figure

Looks like Urban Outfitters is at it again. This time, they are selling a very familiar looking dog figure that looks like one originally created by one of the biggest names in contemporary art. Neither are strangers to lawsuits, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out. Opening along side Josh Keyes at Jonathan Levine was sculptural artist AJ Fosik. The show entitled Time Kills All Gods is a tour de force as AJ brings the hammer with this latest endeavor. We’ve long been impressed at his creative wood and metal workings that depict unique animals, but this time he ups the ante with a serious boost of imaginative mythical creatures while tackling the ideas of religion and the worship of false idols. Currently on view at the Chatsworth House grounds in the UK through October 31st is the annual Sotheby’s Beyond Limits sculpture exhibition. Included in this year’s showing are two new works from Damien Hirst entitled Legend and Myth, which are his dissected portrayals of a winged horse and a unicorn. This past Saturday, LeBasse Projects in Culver City debuted Yoskay Yamamoto’s (interviewed) new solo exhibition. Entitled Picking Up Where We Left Off, this most recent work by the L.A.-based artist continues to show a great sense of artistry that he’s been building upon during the last few years. AM recently caught Aaron Young’s New York Solo Built Tough at Bortolami Gallery. The show was a departure from the motorcycle etchings we typically see by Young as he tackled the motif of America and its symbols with new body of works that included sculptures, paintings, and silkscreens.
