Presently at Backslash in Paris (through March 28th) is a show entitled Current from Boris “Delta” Tellegen. The Dutch artist’s second exhibition with the gallery features a collection of work inspired by the movement and unbroken activity the current, whether it be electrical in nature or in the ocean. The geometrical and architecturally inclined pieces on display range from large assemblages to smaller pieces on paper, a good cross section of work from the artist whose roots lie in graffiti. Set to land in Paris on March 19th, Nick Walker (interviewed) will be opening a solo show entitled Vicious Beauty at Galerie Brugier-Rigail. Street art fans in the City of Light are certainly no strangers to the work of the Bristol-based artist as the capital city is only a short trip across the Channel, making it easily accessible for the Vandal (examples here & here). Likewise, Walker’s famous character will be making an appearance indoors for the exhibition and no doubt outdoors in the wild as well. Discuss Nick Walker here.

Sam Wolfe Connelly’s second solo show at Roq La Rue opened on March 5th. And Here I Lay features several oil paintings that can be described as haunting with a touch of remorse. Feelings of quiet and loneliness invade film-like locations that could easily be used as crime scene evidence. The exhibition also has a few graphite drawings that add to the narrative. Howard Griffin Gallery Los Angeles opened a solo by Pablo Delgado on March 7th entitled On Their Level. After showing last year at their London gallery (covered), the Mexican artist took a different approach to presenting his peculiar work this time. By changing the point of view and challenging the viewer’s perspective, the exhibition “explores multiple perceptions of society, equality, consumerism and temporality.“ Delgado’s street work usually consists of small installations within existing environments, which strongly affects viewing experience. Nawer recently opened his successful Tokyo debut at Hidari Zingaro Gallery. Co-curated by Takashi Murakami and Takumi “Kasenyan” Kaseno of the GEISAI executive committee, Colors in Shapeland is a part of KaiKai Kiki’s GEISAI∞Infinity project. For this show, the Polish artist created a whole new body of work consisting of his abstract geo-based pieces. While quite different than other artists on the KaiKai Kiki’s roster, Nawer’s futuristic abstract works obviously resonated with the local collectors as the show completely sold out. Openings: Sarah Joncas & Camilla d’Errico – “Beauty in the Breakdown” @ Thinkspace Gallery

Last weekend, Sarah Joncas (seen above) and Camilla d’Errico (seen below) opened up a joint show together at Thinkspace Gallery in Los Angeles that included good representations of what they were known for. Beauty in the Breakdown featured the feminine portraiture of Joncas in film-noir settings contrasted against the manga-inspired surreal work of d’Errico. POW! WOW! ’15 / Streets: Doze Green

Working on probably the biggest wall of this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii (more coverage here), the legendary Doze Green and his team painted a mural with warm tones showing his signature characters in action.
