Visible from May to September 2018, Felice Varini’s latest project is a striking installation at the medieval fortress of Carcassonne in Southern France. Spread on the west front of the city fortifications, 15 yellow circles (composed of temporary thin aluminium strips) all come together perfectly in the field of vision when standing facing one of the gates and is characteristic of the Swiss artist’s geometric perspective-localized paintings. Just closing over the weekend in London, BRD SHT from Mark Jenkins (interviewed) filled Lazinc with clever sculptural works that mirror his public interventions. Tomorrow (June 30th), Vitality and Verve III will open to the public (private gala tonight) at the Long Beach Museum of Art, presented in curatorial collaboration with Los Angeles’ Thinkspace Projects and the support of POW! WOW! Long Beach. The third iteration of the group exhibition highlighting artists from the “New Contemporary Art Movement” features an excellent roster including Sergio Garcia and Saber who collaborated on a cool installation featuring Garcia’s sculpture of Saber’s hand in mid spray with the graffiti artist providing his tag. On July 7th, Spoke Art’s New York location will be hosting the Suggestivism: Resonance 2018 group exhibition. The long running series of shows are the brainchild of artist Nathan Spoor, who is curating the roster as well as contributing a piece to the show.
