Streets: SatOne x Roid x Wow123 (Germany)

Toward the end of last year, artists SatOne, Roid and Wow123 come together to work on a epic wall in Bremen, Germany. Entitled World Made of Plastic, the mural was painted as part of “A Dream – Mural Art Project” in Lüssumer Heide 36, Bremen Nord – blending their styles together nicely. Upcoming: Os Gemeos @ Museu Casa do Pontal

On Saturday, the 31st of January, Museu Casa do Pontal will be inaugurating new work by Brazilian artists Os Gemeos. Created exclusively for this institution, the twins’ first permanent installation will be entitled The Bunker. The activities will begin in the afternoon at the Municipal Theatre, in Bandeirantes, Rio de Janeiro, with an open conversation with artists Gustavo & Otavio Pandolfo, mediated by curators Paul Portela and Angela Mascelani, followed by the installation reveal and a live concert by Siba. Streets: Paul Wackers (New York)

For those passing through SoHo in New York, a pretty sweet wall at the James Hotel from Paul Wackers may make it worth your while to stop for a look. Featuring the locally-based artist’s modern take on still life imagery, the wall on the hotel’s Sixth Avenue facade is the first new phase of their #jamespublicart initiative. Streets: Invader (Africa)

Prolific street artist Invader recently made his way to Africa to spend some time on the Serengeti in Tanzania. While on the Grumeti Game Reserve, the Paris-based tile specialist found it hard to find places (let alone “streets”) to put his signature mosaic pieces, sometimes resorting to taking photos with his work held up. Releases: Shepard Fairey x Cleon Peterson – “Pattern of Corruption” Prints

Tomorrow, January 27th, at a random time between 10 am and 12 noon PST, a some collaborative prints will be released between Shepard Fairey and Cleon Peterson. Featuring the Pattern of Corruption used in one of their joint murals in Miami’s Wynwood district (covered), painted during  Basel Week Miami, the striking imagery will be released in 3 different pairs of colorways –  Black/White, Gold/Black and Blue/White. LA Art Show ’15: Recap

Last week, AM attended the LA Art Show to see what the fair had to offer collectors in Los Angeles. Openings: “Mapping The City” @ Somerset House (London)

Following the success of the 2014 exhibition Futurismo Ancestral: An Offering to Peru by Sixe Paredes (covered), the collaborative arts organization Approved by Pablo curated a new exhibition entitled Mapping The City in London, running until 15 February. Over 50 internationally recognized artists from the street art and graffiti scene including took over the New Wing of Somerset House to share their knowledge of each city’s secrets and urban landscape through a variety of media from illustrations, paintings, sculptures, installations and videos.
