Streets: Eine (Mexico)

Street typography connoisseur, Ben Eine, recently paid a trip to Mexico to get up on some walls. With almost a month to paint his signature lettering, the UK-based artist has done alot of damage so far with more to come. In particular, a long piece that spells out “The Bread Of The Rich Is The Struggle Of The Poor” caught out eye. See that piece and more after the jump…

Releases: Kaws – “Partners” Figure

KAWS fans out there will be pleased to know that the next figure from the street turned contemporary artist has dropped. Partners features a sculpt of the artist standing next to his companion figure. If this looks familiar, it’s because you probably have seen the statue at Disneyland featuring Walt Disney standing next to Mickey Mouse although not cringing like in this version. There’s a little more info here, but also take a look at more detailed shots after the jump…

Streets: El Mac x Augustine Kofie (Los Angeles) – Part I

Not too long ago, the collaboration between artists El Mac and Augustine Kofie (featured) produced a spectacular mural that took place at the KROQ studios in Los Angeles, California (covered). It was a project which greatly combined the talent of these two artists to produce a music-themed mural. Now the two have once again come together to produce a mural which not only displays their incredible technique but more importantly, it is a project which pays respect to their late friend DASH 2000, a former member […]

The other room showcased paintings from LA-based artist Natalia Fabia (interviewed) with a solo entitled Punk Rock Rainbow Sparkle. Videos: Dabs Myla – “Christmas Mural 2011” (Los Angeles)

Late last year during the holidays, we brought you pictures from Dabs Myla‘s latest mural which took place in the Culver City of Los Angeles (covered). It turns out the project (set up through Branded Arts and Thinkspace Gallery) has a story behind it that could be just as interesting as the aesthetic value of the mural itself. Filmmaker and AM contributor Carlos Gonzalez documented the project from beginning to end and got a chance to hang out with the couple during this entire process. The result […]

Streets: Bumblebee – “Mutual Feeling” (Los Angeles)

As if they do not have enough problems in their lives already, the homeless in Southern California have had quite the struggle recently, ranging from being beaten by a famous frozen yogurt purveyor to being targeted, stalked, and killed by a military vet. News stories like these bring to the forefront that being homeless is still a very real problem for many and it does not only affect men and women that are down on their luck. Young boys and girls are also affected by […]
