Streets: Saber

Los Angeles-based graffiti artist Saber recently threw up a new mural on the corner of 7th and Mateo, showing he can get his street art on as well. The piece, part of the L.A. Freewalls Project (see D*Face’s contribution), features skyline imagery as well as what looks to be one of the legendary artist’s famous tags on one of the foreground walls. Preview: Alexandros Vasmoulakis – “Is Everybody Happy?” @ LeBasse Projects

Greek artist Alexandros Vasmoulakis will be coming to Los Angeles for his first US solo show at LeBasse Projects. The show “Is Everybody Happy?” is his latest body of work which contain both canvas and paper works featuring his signature characters. Known for works both inside and out, the talented artist is also expected to work on a large outdoor piece when he visits LA. The show opens this Saturday, March 20th at 7pm. Streets: Hush Geisha

A few weeks ago we previewed Hush (interviewed) working on a new type of Geisha. One that was more detailed and more realistic. It looks like he’s out working on a larger version as a mural. Very interesting… Check out the in progress shots after the jump.

Releases: Bast – “Niel Blender (Red)” Print

Bast, who’s currently showing with Faile. at Lazarides (covered), recently released a print named after legendary skater and artist Neil Blender. The edition titled simply “Niel Blender (Red)” [sic] is pretty large at 129 cm x 97 cm is priced at £725.00 in a run of 10 (available here). For those who don’t know who Blender is, check out some awesome old school footage after the jump where he stops during a skating competition to spraypaint and therefore gets disqualified.

March came in with a bang last weekend and doesn’t let up as we head in the 2nd weekend of the month. Leading the charge are two gargantuan group shows.
