If you a fan of Alexandros Vasmoulakis and looking forward to his first US solo in March at LeBasse Projects, then “The Good The Bad and The Ugly” group show should serve as a nice appetizer for you. Vasmoulakis, originally from Athens, is primarily known for his street work, particularly the large murals depicting his contorted and slightly abstract figures all painted in his signature illustrative style. Openings: Logan Hicks & C215 – “Parallel Universe” @ Show & Tell Gallery

Renowned stencil artists Logan Hicks (interviewed) and C215 opened their joint show “Parallel Unverse” at Show & Tell Gallery last week.  For their first show in Canada, the NY based Hicks brings his familiar architectural inspired cityscapes and Parisian artist C215 once again channels emotions from the human subjects he favors. Armsrock for Glow 2009

Armsrock (interviewed) has put up an interesting installation for this year’s GLOW – International Forum of Light in Art and Architecture in the Netherlands. A series of 18 x 18 cm photo-slides which engravings he did with an etching needle were then projected with Pani projectors through out the city of Eindhoven.  More images after the jump…

Openings: WK Interact – “How To Blow Yourself Up” @ Subliminal Projects

This past weekend, WK Interact opened his “amped-up” show “How To Blow Yourself Up” at LA’s Subliminal Projects. Unlike his last show at Jonathan Levine (covered), which focused on giant canvas works, this show centered around the intricately designed urban mechanisms and interactive installations which were handcrafted by WK himself. Streets: Shepard Fairey x Levi’s Time Square Mural

Recently. AM had a chance to catch Shepard Fairey and his crew hard at work in the middle of Times Square for the launch of a special collaboration with Levi’s. In usual bold Obey fashion, the boys set up shop at the heart of the city to build a mural anchored by Shepard’s classic icon with a “pocketed” Levi’s twist.
