Sir Banksy demonstrated that he could create a show that seamlessly weaved his witty street-cred with the pompous realm of high-society. Considering the limited time we had to enjoy the show, we went back on opening day to bring you a closer look at the mock-up of Banksy’s actual studio. Read on after the jump…

Video/Creative Process: Invader @ Jonathan Levine Gallery

Invader will be having a solo show at Jonathan Levine Gallery at the end of June. Here’s a little video preview of his trademark “Rubickubism” process and a piece that will be at the show. It appears Swoon wasn’t the only artist in Venice recently.  Shepard Fairey and his boys were also spotted spending a few weeks to “restore Venice.” The purpose of their visit wasn’t to vacation in the grand canals of Venice, but to create works for the SMS Venice Foundation. The works were donated by Shepard to promote the preservation of artistic and architectural heritage of the historic city of Venice. More after the jump.

Openings: “Self-Portraits” @ Circle Culture Gallery

It’s always interesting to see how an artist views themselves, especially in the context of their own art. “Self Portraits” (previewed) which opened recently in Berlin at Circle Culture Gallery is based exactly on this concept. Each artist created a piece in their distinctive style that they felt best represented themselves. Take a look at what they came up with, after the jump…
