Upcoming: Tim Biskup for “MAS: ATTACK” @ LA Mart

Tonight (January 26th) in Los Angeles, LA Mart (1933 S. Broadway) will be hosting a group exhibition entitled MAS: ATTACK (Mutual Appreciation Society). The one night event features a large roster of artists including Tim Biskup who will be contributing the pieces seen above including the 48″ x 48″ painting entitled Dawn which seem combines old and new techniques. Openings: Tim Biskup – “Excavation” @ Antonio Colombo

During the fall, Tim Biskup had a big solo at Antonio Colombo Arte Contemporanea Gallery in Milan. Kickstarter: Tim Biskup – Big Butter Double Vinyl LP

Some of you may not know (including us), but painter Tim Biskup (featured) is part of a band Big Butter that he formed with his brother Mike Biskup back in the 80s. One of their favorite and most obscure recordings, BRAINSLED, was released as a cassette in 1989, but was never released on vinyl. Releases: Tim Biskup – “Doom Loop #19” Print

For Tim Biskup (featured) fans out there, he recently released a new print entitled Doom Loop #19 on his webstore. The image featuring his distinctive refractive style is taken from a painting for his upcoming solo show in Milan at Antonio Colombo Arte Contemporanea opening on September 20th. Published in assosiation with Art & Council, the print comes in a signed & numbered edition of 20, is sized at 40 x 30″ and costs $500. Openings: “MiXTAPE LA” @ Lebasse Projects (Chinatown)

Last night, the Chinatown location of LeBasse Projects hosted Mixtape Los Angeles, a group show curated by by Jessicka Adams and Brian Wakil of Dark Dark Science with part of the proceeds going to Downtown Dog Rescue and Stray Cat Alliance. Twenty four artists created pieces that explored “the effect of music on the process of creation” including Camille Rose Garcia, Elizabeth McGrath, Gary Baseman, Marion Peck, Mark Ryden, Matthew Bone, Melissa Haslam, Tara McPherson, Tim Biskup and more.
