Anish Kapoor, arguably the most famous sculptor alive, recently returned to India for his first solo exhibition split between Delhi at the National Gallery of Modern Art and the Mehboob Studios in Mumbai, the city where he was born. The thirty year retrospective, which is somewhat of a homecoming 40 years later for Kapoor who left the country when he was 17, features many of his most famous works like the pigment pieces, the distorted mirrors, and shooting into the corner. Videos: Basel Week Miami ’10: Wynwood Walls

As you know, Wynwood Walls was one of the centerpieces of the Art Basel Week Miami experience when it came to outdoor work. Videos: Scott Campbell x Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2011 Collection

The relationship between Louis Vuitton and Scott Campbell must’ve started off on the right foot thanks to their collaboration earlier this year (covered), as the multi-faceted artist now has the distinguished honor of designing an entire line for the pervasive brand. Following in the foot steps of such art luminaries as Takashi Murakami to have worked closely with the trend setting product house, Campbell who is known for his accomplished abilities with the pen and the tattoo gun, as well as for thinking outside the […]

Openings: ‘Marks & Stencils’ pop-up gallery, London

Last Thursday, AM was in London’s Soho district to attend the opening of Marks & Stencils: the Pictures On Walls Christmas season pop-up gallery exhibition, which in previous years has gone by the name of Santa’s Ghetto. There was a great atmosphere at the event. No doubt this was partly assisted by the deceptively strong cocktails being served, which led us to yet again repeat our mistake of equating “sweet drink” with “harmless drink”. But that’s another story. The show harbours a selection of prints […]

Video: “Destricted” Trailer

The controversial collection of shorts entitled Destricted was recently released onto DVD. The US version which features famed artists like Richard Prince and Marilyn Minter as directors consists of an ongoing series of films that explore the line where art and pornography intersect. When the UK version was released in 2006, it won awards at a range of international film festivals including Cannes, but encountered some problems predictably getting released in the States until now. Via Hyde or Die.

We’ve been watching Season 3 as David and his crew hitchhike across China after starting out in Beijing where his solo show Death Blossom was held at PYO Gallery (covered) back in April […]
