We’ve been following the Da Mental Vaporz crew in Australia as they are currently showing at Rtist Gallery. Combining a patchwork of their different styles, the DMV crew consisting of Bom-K, Blo, Brusk, Dran, Gris1, ISO, Jaw, Kan, and Sowat just completed an imaginary bestiary on a four-storey building in the heart of Chinatown, making it the largest graffiti mural of Melbourne. This week’s roundup starts with the always entertaining David Choe (featured). He claims to have recently found the abandoned vacation home of the infamous Pablo Escobar in Columbia. We had only caught up with French graffiti crew Da Mental Vaporz in Copenhagen at the end of August at the Galore Festival and now they are already onto their next project. A couple weeks ago, AM documented the mural process of Belgium-based street artist ROA as he painted a tower in Copenhagen for the Galore Festival. We can now bring you more photos of other artists who participated including French artist Dran and the entire Da Mental Vaporz crew (who painted a long wall together), and many others like RIPO, Drewk The Pirate, Grito, and Lints. Last Thursday, AM was in London’s Soho district to attend the opening of Marks & Stencils: the Pictures On Walls Christmas season pop-up gallery exhibition, which in previous years has gone by the name of Santa’s Ghetto. There was a great atmosphere at the event. No doubt this was partly assisted by the deceptively strong cocktails being served, which led us to yet again repeat our mistake of equating “sweet drink” with “harmless drink”. What do we spy in the window through which the Marks and Stencils show we mentioned previously is being set up? It looks like the rumored new Banksy print Choose Your Weapon (60 cm x 60 cm, £450.00) which will be released later this month and is based on his recent “Keith Haring Dog” stencil.
