Some of the murals produced include a three step deconstruction of another mural previously done in Argentina by Franco Fasoli Jaz; a repetitive modular abstract piece by Elian Chali; the What Are the Aesthetics of Reinvestment […]

The Artesano Project is an international public arts initiative that recently hosted around 30 local and international artists for their second annual event. Hosted by Dominican born artist Evoca1 and curated by INOPERAbLE, the event aims to help […]

Streets: World Roundup (Dec 30 – Apr 13)

It’s been a while since our last Streets: World Roundup so it’s time to revive the feature where we share a summary of some recent art from the streets. Headlining things for us is a new piece from Italian street artist Blu in Niscemi, Sicily. Along with his signature style, his political views are also quite evident in this large impressive wall mural. Other worthy work comes from Olek – NYC (source), Gaia – Baltimore (source), Escif – Spain, Ludo – London (source), Aakash Nihalani – Italy, […]

POW! WOW! ’14: Murals – First Look

A major component of the POW WOW festival in Hawaii is of course the public art that goes up over a week, mostly in the industrial district of Kaka’ako. AM spent some of the last two days walking the streets chatting to artists and admiring the murals going up that not only display the skills of these painters from all over the world, but often times tests their collaborative problem-solving that occurs when working on joint walls (like the one above between Buff Monster and Nychos). Take […]
