Showing / Giveaway: Kai & Sunny – “Return To The Wild” @ Stolenspace

AM stopped by StolenSpace this weekend to check out their latest exhibition, Kai & Sunny’s “Return to the Wild”. The show contains large scale one-off and small edition prints by the duo, with a cohesive colour palette and fantastic nature inspired subject matter and motifs used throughout. Alongside the wall pieces are four floor standing tee-pee lights with silkscreened covers stretched over bamboo frames. Releases: “Help Haiti” @ Stolenspace

Photographer Jeff Antebi has teamed up with London’s StolenSpace gallery to launch an online fundraiser for the people of Haiti. Antebi visited Haiti twice last year (you can read his experiences here) and will be releasing editioned prints of his photography to help raise funds for Oxfam and Doctors Without Borders. The prints are limited to runs of 150, are priced at a very affordable $64.50 each and are available through StolenSpace. Couple more photos after the jump.

Studio Visits: Chloe Early

Weâ€™re big fans of the ever-so-talented Chloe Early (interviewed) here at AM, and recently were honoured to visit her studio in London. Chloe is currently preparing for her most ambitious solo show to date at Londonâ€™s StolenSpace gallery, entitled “Clouded Apollo,” which is the name of aÂ species of butterfly. Chloe tells us that the title for the show was inspired by the themes of flight, hovering, suspension, mythology, light and lunar missions – all of which she has been exploring within this body of work. AM just got back from the opening of Green Day’s “The Art of Rock” show at London’s StolenSpace gallery (previewed), the night before the band starts a run of sold out dates on the UK leg of theÂ 21st Century Breakdown Tour. Logan Hicks (interviewed) curated the group show, which consisted ofÂ 18 pieces of art inspired by the lyrics of the new album. The participating artists were M-City (Mariusz Waras), Meggs, Peat Wollaeger, Pisa73, Ron English (featured), Sadhu, Sixten, The London Police, Will Barras, Adam (5100) [...]

London got a treat last night in the form of Los Angeles based artist Sylvia Ji’s (interviewed) debut UK solo show entitled “Nectar” at StolenSpace gallery (previewed). AM UK has been a long time fan of Sylviaâ€™s work and were delighted to finally get to see it in person after years of admiring jpegs of her beautiful Catrinas. Recently we teased you with a shot fromÂ Sylvia Ji’s (interviewed) studio for her upcoming show “Nectar” at StolenSpace. Now, we bring you a closer look as her UK debut on September 3rd draws near. As the title of the show implies, “Nectar” focuses more on the sublime expressions of lust and love. StolenSpace shows always attract a good crowd and last week’s opening of their annual “Summer Group Show” was no exception. London was basking in a serious heatwave last week and the ice cold Tiger Beer was a welcome relief from the heat for the AM contingent attending the show. Jeff Soto (interviewed) opened his UK solo show to a packed house at StolenSpace yesterday.
