Streets: The London Police @ Unit44

Last week, Newcastle was gifted a huge new mural all the way from Amsterdam as The London Police painted their iconic characters at Unit44. The duo christened their new wall with a showing at the Hoults Yard showspace including a selection of originals and limited editions. Take a look below at more in-progress photos and detailed looks at the LADS having some aquatic fun courtesy of the two English geezers. Discuss The London Police here.

We’ll also be bringing you [...]

Openings: StolenSpace Summer Group Show

AM got to the opening of StolenSpace’s annual Summer Group Show last week to find a line of people queuing out of the door! A packed house came out to see what we found to be a very strong grouping of work from an interesting mix of artists, some old StolenSpace favorites, but a lot fresh names – some new to the gallery, and some new to the London scene. Chloe Early is one of our favorite painters from the StolenSpace roster, and her new [...]

StolenSpace Gallery in London is hosting their annual summer group show tonight. As usual, the roster features some stalwarts from their stable of artists as well as mixing in some new talent. One of the pieces we look forward to checking out ourselves is “Rocketeers” from Chloe Early (interviewed). If this incredible painting is any indication, we are in for a treat when her next solo opens in October at the Corey Helford Gallery. More selected preview images from the group show which also includes [...]

The recent documentary film “Brothers in Arms” filmed in LA where best friends Bob & Chaz (TLP) decided to handcuff themselves together for 24 hours a day (a social experiment of friendship versus personal space) will be playing for attendees to enjoy. More images after the jump.

Openings: The London Police – “Brothers in Arms” @ Carmichael Gallery

The London Police opened a huge show last week in Los Angeles at the Carmichael Gallery located out on La Brea. The art lovers of LA came out in strong numbers to support the show and to catch the premiere of the Ashton Kutcher produced “Brothers In Arms” short film (teased) that chronicled 5 days of the TLP being handcuffed together during the final touches of their show. The flim is hilarious and came out so good. Thanks to NOMAD (who’s still in town after his [...]
