Coming off her recent sellout show at Ad Hoc Art in Brooklyn (here)’ Michelle “MIA” Araujo has put together a fresh group of paintings for the upcoming “Illuminate” at Corey Helford. Illuminate is a group show where MIA will showcase her beautifully illustrated works along side Robert Bellm and Angelique Huotkamp. Unlike most shows, this one’s a quick 1 week drive-by! Last night, AM was on hand at Jonathan LeVine for the preview of two great shows, Shag’s Voyeur (previewed/interviewed) and Stephan “Calma” Doitschinoff’s Novo Mundo. Shag’s work is nothing less than magnetic from the second one enters the gallery. Guess who’s back…? Banksy and POW have just released a new print “Nola” for all the fans that have been waiting patiently all year. This print was based on his recent New Orleans work “Rain Girl”. “Are you tired of looking out the window at the grey and the rain? In response to all her loyal fans who participated but missed out in yesterday’s sold out print release of “She Who Dares” (previewed), Audrey is deliberating the possibility of bringing back the “timed release” print in an effort to get her work into the homes of her supportive fans.
