Studio Visits: Haroshi

Only two weeks after his trip to Mexico, where he revealed a trophy that was commissioned by Nike for their big Tampa Pro skateboarding contest, Japanese artist and passionate skateboard lover, Haroshi, welcomed us in his studio in Tokyo. Even though he’s a world wide recognized artist, whose shows are regularly selling out and has major skateboard related companies struggling to commission him to do work for them, his studio is not much more than a “skateboarder’s lair.” There are posters, cutouts and photographs of […]

Studio Visits: Chris Berens

We had a privilege to visit Chris Berens in his new studio in Amsterdam, just after he finished his 3 new impressive works for last year’s PAN Art Fair. Most of the walls of the studio, especially around the isle in the middle […]

Openings: Diem Chau & Kappao @ Galleria Patricia Armocida

Back in November, we stopped by Galleria Patricia Armocida in Milan, to check out shows by two fresh, talented artists – Vietnam native Diem Chau, and Kappao from Korea. The mutual thing about both artists is the fact that they use very delicate and fragile materials, that through their meticulous patient process,  are turned into delicate beautiful pieces of art. Kappao’s signature material is ceramics, but also, clay, wood, plaster, ropes, fabric, and other “poor materials” that she adds to her sculptures that both have […]
