Previews: “Inside/Out” @ Mecka NYC

Mecka NYC is introducing an interesting project titled INSIDE/OUT, a unique, new event that will merge an exhibition, social media hunt, and fund raising event for Swoon’s (interviewed) ongoing Braddock Tiles event. The show will open on August 23 from 5pm – 9pm at Hotel Particulier in NYC, with the art hunt begining on the same day at 10am. Releases: VNA 27 – Aryz Cover

VNA magazine just revealed the contents and the look of the limited edition of their newest issue #27 that will be available tonight at the official release party @ StolenSpace in London. With Aryz as their cover artist, the magazine released 3 different covers – regular, subscription and the limited one. Streets: Os Gemeos (Vancouver) – Part I

Os Gemeos are currently in Vancouver working on an impressive outdoor project organized by the Vancouver Biennale. Painting six large silos, on the full 360 degree surface covering 23,500 square feet (7,162 square metres), this is going to be their biggest mural to date, and their first one in Canada. With this project, the twins are joining the impressive roster of international artists including Ai Weiwei, Andy Goldsworthy, Vik Muniz and Jonathan Borofsky in transforming Vancouver into an open air museum for the 2014-2016 Vancouver Biennale. Streets: Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans – Mexico Expedition

A couple of weeks ago Pangeaseed.org wrapped up another praiseworthy project on the island of Isla Mujeres, Mexico – Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans – Mexico Expedition. For this event that took place from July 20-28, they invited a group of international artists to help raise awareness for the conservation of the ocean.  Similar to what they did with POW! WOW! Previews: MyFinBec 2014 Show @ Ruttkowski;68

From the 15th till 19th of August, gallery Ruttkowski;68 in Cologne will be showing the new works from this year’s MyFinBec project. The annual series organized by the winery Cave Fin Bec in Switzerland commissions artists to create wine labels for their special limited edition organic wine. This year’s lineup included VHILS from Portugal, Herakut from Germany, C215 from France, and Etam Cru from Poland. In every instance, eight different labels were painted on stacks of 84 crates each. Streets: Herbert Baglione for Djerbahood (Tunisia)

Another artist that was invited to Djerba in Tunisia for the Djerbahood Project organized by Galerie Itinerrance was Brazilian artist Herbert Baglione. The streets of the picturesque village of Erriadh felt like a perfect setting for his ongoing 1000 Shadows project, so the artist painted several new pieces around the town. Like many other artists participating in the project, Baglione involved existing architectural elements into his work, but he pushed that concept even further. Bom.K was recently invited to Djerba in Tunisia, to take part in the big Djerbahood Project organized by Galerie Itinerrance in Paris. The French graffiti artist, one of the key members of Da Mental Vaporz crew, who’s been showing his works recently in galleries throughout Europe and USA, created couple of different street works for this open space museum.
