Upcoming: KAWS – “BFF” @ Central Embassy (Bangkok)

Further expanding his reach into Asia, KAWS will be opening up a new project at Central Embassy in Bangkok at the end of this month. Teaming up with curator AllRightsReserved again, the New York-based artist will be introducing what looks to be his sculptural version of Elmo remixed with his signature companion treatment at the architecturally stunning luxury retail & hotel complex. Streets: Ron English – “Temper Pac” @ Art Gathering LA

Last week, Art Gathering LA, a tattoo convention that also presented artworks from across the globe from over 400 of the world’s leading tattooists, was hosted by the historic Queen Mary in Long Beach. For the inaugural event, Ron English (featured) was invited in to create a piece to mark the occasion. The New York-based artist chose to take one of his signature Temper Tot images and change it up by creating a mashup between the baby hulk and Tupac, the result which he dubbed Temper Pac. Upcoming: Noferin – “Return to Carrara” @ Rotofugi

On June 10th, Noferin will be opening a show in Chicago alongside Jeremiah Ketner at Rotofugi. Returning to the gallery scene for the first time in a few years, the husband & wife duo have prepared a series of whimsical paintings and sculptures featuring some of their well-known characters like Poppy & the Pecanpals. Releases: Josh Keyes – “Goliath” Print

It looks like Josh Keyes (interviewed) is getting ready to make available a print version of his Goliath painting, last seen at Banksy’s Dismaland. Release through Thinkspace, some of the proceeds from the new limited edition will go to benefit Born Free USA, a national animal advocacy nonprofit. Openings: Greg Simkins – “Beyond Shadows” @ KP Projects // MKG & Launch LA

Last month, KP Projects // MKG in West Hollywood hosted the opening for the latest solo from Greg “Craola” Simkins (featured). Entitled Beyond Shadows, the new pieces continue the locally-based artist’s surreal explorations of hybrid creatures rendered in a vivid palette. Releases: Sainer – “Snowman” Box Set

Today at 10 am (PST), Thinkspace will be releasing a new box set in their online shop from Sainer (one half of the Etam Cru) referencing their exhibition at the gallery last year (covered). Upcoming: Jeremiah Ketner – “Nihon Dream” @ Rotofugi

On June 10th, a new solo show from Jeremiah Ketner (interviewed) entitled Nihon Dreams will be opening at Rotofugi in Chicago. The American artist will be returning to the city he called home before moving to Japan, bringing with him whimsical paintings featuring his female and animal characters. No doubt influenced by his interest in Japanese culture as well as his work with customizing toys, the work will be especially appreciated by the clientele that frequent the designer toy store and gallery. Streets: Slinkachu (Dubai)

Recently in the UAE, miniature street sculptor Slinkachu created 10 new works Dubai Walls. These installations were hidden in plain site by the British street artist who will also be contributing some photography for a huge open-air wall in City Walk. Hot Tea x Bon Iver @ Sydney Opera House

Last week, American indie folk band Bon Ivor performed at the Sydney Opera House under a large suspended installation by Hot Tea. The Minneapolis-based artist, known for his yarn-based work, created a stunning hanging installation that changed colors and imagery when viewed in conjunction with projection, a collaborative project entitled Circle.
