After sharing some initial photos of artists painting murals for the Vitality and Verve: Transforming the Urban Landscape exhibition opening June 26th at the Long Beach Museum of Art (LBMA), we now have some more shots for you from over the weekend. Releases: Shok-1 – “The Consumer” Shirt

Those who follows Shok-1 and his distinctive work on the streets are no doubt familiar with his x-ray spray technique. One of the London-based artist’s most well received murals comes from last year when he merged his aesthetic with pop culture and painted a Pac-Man as it would look if it had bones. After bringing you a look inside the Cyrcle. (featured) studio as they prepped for their Montreal solo, we now have some photos from the opening to share with you. Nothing Exists at Station16 Gallery (showing through July 4th) features the Los Angeles duo’s new works explore themes of themes of religion, science, and duality with their signature design aesthetic. Currently at Rotofugi in Chicago, artist Scott Listfield has about 20 oil on canvas paintings on display collectively entitled Astronaut. After bringing you a look at SCOPE Basel, we now turn our attention to the VOLTA. Moving back to the center of the city at the venue Markthalle, their 11th year at Basel Week Switzerland sees the art fair continuing to focus on mainly solo exhibitions from artists at their gallery booths like Mark Stone for The Hole Gallery (seen above). Opening on Saturday night (June 20th) in the Thinkspace Gallery project room is #WhereWeBeelong, a new show from Bumblebeelovesyou. The works for the exhibitioni mirror the Los Angeles-based street artist’s outdoor imagery – whimsical scenes of children at play, of course oftentimes dressed in yellow and black or peppered with references to his namesake. Earlier this week, we stopped by the Long Beach Museum of Art (LBMA) to bring you a look at the epic show taking form that is being put on as a collaboration between the LBMA, Thinkspace Gallery, and the people behind POW! WOW!. Starting Monday, June 22nd, POW! WOW! With the art world focused in on the festivities in Switzerland, we start our coverage of Art Basel Week with a feature on SCOPE. Celebrating nine years in Basel, the fair returns to its pioneering location at Basel’s New Art District on the Rhine.
