Interviews / Preview: Antony Micallef – “Becoming Animal” @ Lazarides London

One of London’s most anticipated shows of the year is almost upon us with Antony Micallef’s “Becoming Animal” opening this week at Lazarides gallery’s Rathbone Place location. We certainly got excited after seeing the new image of one of the show pieces he recently put on his website here – and it certainly seemed to fit with the dark tone he described to us. This is the first solo outing from Micallef since his sell out show in Los Angeles, “Impure Idols,” in 2007 where […]

Well, boy, were we right! Check out the pictures from the opening after the jump.

Interviews / Studio Visits: D*Face

D*Face is undoubtedly one of the most important artists working within the realms of street art today. His bold compositions and daring outdoor work continues to push the boundaries to new levels. Taking part of it’s name […]

Studio Visits/Preview: Eric White – “LP” @ Sloan Fine Art

Last week, AM had the opportunity to drop by Eric White’s Brooklyn studio, and got a sneak peak of his space and some of the work for his upcoming exhibit “LP,” opening at Sloan Fine Art Sept. 12. As the title implies, the show will consist of White’s interpretations of classic album covers—more specifically, those from before 1983, the year when he got his first CD player. At first glance, the 12″ paintings often look exactly like record sleeves from Fleetwood Mac, Talking Heads, Pink […]

Last Thursday saw the opening of “Pop Crime” at Opus Art in Newcastle, featuring the work of Crash (aka John Matos) and SheOne. Remarkably, this is the first time that a body of work from Crash has been shown in […]
