Serial collaborator Ericailcane has instead opted to trade his Italian neighbor Blu for Spanish street art crusader Escif. Ironically, Blu and Escif collaborated together in Valencia on an impressive tandem mural back in July for Arquitecturas Colectivas. Quite clearly, the three artists share a tight bond and mutual respect for one another. The Spanish-born twins How & Nosm arrived in Los Angeles nearly 2 weeks before their next solo show entitled Achtung!, which opens on October 15th at the Known Gallery. Check out this nicely put together video showing Dale Grimshaw getting busy with the work from his upcoming exhibition Semi-Detached opening this Thursday 6th October at Signal Gallery. Dale’s fourth solo show in London will see the artist unleash some of his personal demons, which are expressed in the metaphoric form of his violent father and the troubled upbringing Dale and his family experienced throughout his childhood. Last week, the artist collective known as Cyrcle. (featured) painted a mural in the midst of Culver City, California. Keeping the same theme of We Never Die, which was highlighted during their solo show a couple months ago, the group showed that they can smoothly move from the gallery space to the streets and back. Another great curatorial choice for Nuart Festival is rising star Phlegm, who traveled from his home base of Sheffield for this year’s event. For his part, he painted a nice mural on the side of a derelict building featuring his signature affection for all things airborne and also filled an entire room with his creatures and characters in a strange, almost evolutionary, lineup. Art Platform ’11: RETNA @ New Image Art

Building on the momentum of high profile projects he has been linked to recently (see Chanel, Heal the Bay, VistaJet, and WeHo Library), street calligraphist RETNA (featured) brought his work to Art Platform over the weekend. Agata Oleksiak aka Olek, who recently held a solo show in New York, took her guerrilla crocheting into the public domain several days ago in support of the Occupy Wall Street protests. Nuart Festival ’11: Herakut

With the Nuart Festival in full swing in Norway, the next artists to grace the walls of Stavenger are German duo Herakut. The creative blend of Hera’s loose and more abstract elements with Akut’s photorealistic skills is a special aesthetic that can’t be duplicated. They took time to work on a large wall (with the assistance of a mechanical crane) as well as an immersive installation that took over an entire room. More photos after the jump from Henrik Haven.
