On August 30th, the second street art biennale ARTMOSSPHERE opened its doors at Moscow Manege. Introducing 26 Russian and 42 international artists whose practice was and/or is shaped by street art, the show is definitely unique in its size and concept. Focusing on a multicuratorial status, the international curators, museums and galleries presented their artists through unique works created in Moscow during art residencies. Currently in Brussels, Isaac Cordal’s show entitled La Comédie humaine is on view at La Médiatine. The series of sculptures and installations continues to document the lives of the little cement businessmen that the Spanish artist is known for, mirroring his work on the streets. It’s always interesting so see how the sculptor from Galicia uses the indoor space as he is able to expand on his public art with larger scale installations that further explore his satire and commentary on politics, bureaucracy, power, and environmental issues. Streets / Recap: POW! WOW! Worcester

A couple weeks ago, POW! WOW! Worcester welcomed in artists from 8 different countries as well as locally from Massachusetts. In association with the event, there were gallery shows and other activities, but the main draw was the live painting (like in other POW! WOW! events around the world). Galería Javier López & Fer Francés are starting their new exhibition season with a new show by Todd James entitled We Are One. For the American artist otherwise known as REAS, his third solo ever in Madrid will open on the 15th of September, exactly three years after his last exhibition there (covered), and six years since his first showing with the gallery (covered). Today, Galleria Patricia Armocida in Milan will be opening the #present #past #sentiment #dust solo by Eron. For this exhibition, the Italian artist prepared a series of never-before-seen works consisting of mixed media on paper, spray paint on canvas, and sculptures. With the end of another week of summer (good weather for outdoor mural painting), it’s time for another Streets World Roundup. Leading things off are these two murals seen above from Shok-1 and Marina Zumi for the Lollapalooza Berlin Festival. Nuart ’16 / Openings: “Post-Street Art” @ Tou Scene

After days of preparation, the central event of each year’s Nuart Festival was held on Saturday, the 10th of September. On view was a group show by participating artists titled Post-Street Art was in the tunnels of Tou Scene. Like in the past, the space of the former brewery was divided between the artists, some sharing the rooms with collaborative installations and some showing works by themselves. With only one day left for artists to finish their works for this year’s Nuart Festival, a lot murals and smaller pieces are getting completed as we’re writing this. While AM is getting ready for trip to Norway for Nuart 2016, we just received couple of work in progress photos by festival photographers Brian Tallman, John Rodger and Calum Lasham.
