Second Helpings: February 2009

On the streets: Faile vs. Supreme?

Looks like Faile has been working overtime in the streets of NYC at the expense of Supreme’s Spring ad campaign. Numerous ad posters were altered and remixed across the streets of New York. Faile replaced rocker Lou Reed’s “grill” with their infamous tiger face and also replaced the classic Supreme “box logo” on center of the shirt with the Collective’s catch phrase: “vanity”. Studio Visits / Interviews: Hush

UK artist Hush’s latest solo show, “Hymn to beauty” (teased), kicks off on March 5th at Carmichael Gallery in LA. Creative Process: Stella Im Hultberg

Stella Im Hultberg’s show “The Insentient World” (teased) is opening tonight at Roq La Rue showing concurrently with Andrew Hem’s (interviewed) show.  Her show will feature approximately six canvas paintings and six tea-stained paper pieces.  She took a little time out from her busy schedule to work on a creative process feature for our readers focusing on one of her canvas works (12″ x 14″) entitled “Nobody and Everyone Else.”  Take a look after the jump.

Releases/Collector Focus: Disintegration – Luke Chueh

Gallery 1988 LA announced their latest print with Luke Chueh (teased) featuring his “Disintegration” image. Fans who missed out when the painting was first printed as a giclee on canvas last year (limited to 25 pieces) now have the chance to adorn their wall with this great image.
