A “Bunny Boy” sculpture? Hell yes please! We can’t wait to see what Faile (featured) has up their sleeves for their fans in Portugal. Basel Week Switzerland ’10: Volta6

The last fair we attended while in Switzerland was Volta6, and although it was way across town from Art Basel (covered, part 1 and 2) and Scope (covered), in a somewhat industrial part of the city, we were glad we made the trek. Unlike VoltaNY (covered), Volta6 was not focused on single-artist booths, so the smaller fair offered visitors a large range of interesting emerging artists.

StolenSpace Gallery in London is hosting their annual summer group show tonight. As usual, the roster features some stalwarts from their stable of artists as well as mixing in some new talent. LACMA Purchases Tony Smith “Smoke” Sculpture

Those who have visited LACMA the past couple of years have seen and walked around Tony Smith’s monumental sculpture Smoke. The space that it inhabits in the Ahmanson Pavilion was actually redesigned (by Renzo Piano) specifically for the work. It would be unimaginable to think of the museum without the piece. This past Saturday marked the opening of Barry McGee and Clare Rojas’ exhibition “Leave It Alone” & “Together At Last” (respectively) at the Bolinas Museum. The quaint community in northern California landed a double-stack of works featuring both iconic artists.
