Upcoming: “Gilded Horizons” @ KP Projects

This Saturday, November 11th, KP Projects in Los Angeles will be opening a new group show entitled Gilded Horizons. Included in the exhibition are Johnny “KMNDZ” Rodriguez, JP Naeng, Jean-Pierre Arboleda, Melany Meza-Dierks, and Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed), who contributed the stunning new geisha painting seen above among other works. The New Baroque will be a group show curated by Rob Zeller and Casey Gleghorn set to open on November 18th at Booth Gallery in New York. Releases: Dan Witz x Dior Homme Print

On November 7th, Dan Witz will be releasing a print that celebrates his AW 2017 collaboration with Dior Homme. The imagery for the edition is taken from his signature “mosh pit” mixed media paintings, which was also used for the the fashion house’s outerwear line for Winter 2017. Screening: OBEY GIANT – Shepard Fairey Documentary @ Ace Hotel (Los Angeles)

On Tuesday, November 7th, the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles (RSVP here) will be screening the new Shepard Fairey (featured) documentary OBEY GIANT. Created and executive produced by James Moll and executive produced by James Franco, the film profiles the life and work of artist renowned street artist and will start streaming on Hulu on November 11th. Benefits: NY4PR Auction

Tomorrow night (November 2nd) in New York, there will be an art auction and benefit for the victims of Hurricane Maria (proceeds go to the Hispanic Federation’s disaster relief fund: Unidos). NY4PR (New York for Puerto Rico) will be held at Think!Chinatown x ChaShaMa space (384 Broadway) from 6-9pm and feature contributions from a wide range of artists (see list below). Events: Banksy – “Balfour ‘Apology Party'” @ The Walled Off Hotel (Bethlehem, Palestine)

Earlier today Banksy set up a street tea party in front of The Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem, Palestine (covered), “celebrating” tomorrow’s 100 years anniversary of the Balfour Declaration. The infamous artist already addressed the important role of Great Britain in the ongoing Middle East conflict at the hotel’s museum, and couldn’t miss an opportunity to remind the world about it on this big day. On November 4th Thinkspace gallery in LA will be opening Human (Nature), the first solo exhibition and full gallery takeover by internationally acclaimed Iranian artist-activist duo, Icy and Sot. Upcoming: Shepard Fairey – “Damaged” @ Library Street Collective (LA Popup)

Coming up on November 11th, Library Street Collective will be transforming an industrial space in Los Angeles for Shepard Fairey (featured) to host his first large-scale show in his hometown in nearly 10 years.
