On September 29th Martin Whatson will be opening his first ever solo show in LA, at yet undisclosed location. Revive is set to be his largest and most elaborate exhibition to date, with several installations and brand new paintings and will stay on view until October 8th. On September 9th, Pastel will be opening a solo show at Athen B. Gallery in Downtown Oakland entitled Space-Landscape. For his debut solo show in the United States, the Buenos Aires-based artist, whose real name is Francisco Diaz, has prepared a selection of paintings and sculptures that mirror his work on the streets paintings large floral based murals. Following up on her solo there in 2015 (covered), Stella Im Hultberg (interviewed) will be opening a show at Spoke Art in San Francisco this Thursday, August 31st. Entitled Mago, the new body of work from the Portland-based artist includes paintings and drawings that explore her Korean heritage, traditional folk stories, and her experiences with having a child. Releases: James Jean – “Hunting Party II” Print

Coming up next week (August 29th), James Jean (interviewed) will be releasing a new time limited edition entitled Hunting Party II. The print depicts all the animals of the Chinese Zodiac, comes sized at 21-15/16″ tall × 29-1/2″ wide (image size: 18-3/4″ tall × 27-5/16″ wide), and cost $200. It will only be available for 24 hours starting at 8:00 AM PDT on Monday, August 28th and ending at 7:59 AM on Tuesday, August 29th here for those interested. Discuss James Jean here.

A couple weekends ago, Josh Keyes (interviewed) unveiled a new body of work entitled Implosion at Thinkspace Gallery for his long awaited solo show in Los Angeles.
