Openings: Robert Williams – “Slang Aesthetics!” @ Fort Wayne Museum of Art

Last month, the Fort Wayne Museum of Art (in association with Thinkspace Gallery) hosted the opening of Robert Williams’ Midwestern debut. Previews: “TONDO” @ Spoke Art (SF)

This Saturday night, May 6th, Spoke Art in San Francisco will be opening a new group show entitled TONDO. As the name of the exhibition suggests, over 50 artists were asked to contribute works that were round with creative license to use their own style and imagery. Take a look at examples of the works below (and above from Amy Sol) and make plans to hit the opening if you are in the Bay Area this weekend.

Currently at Honor Fraser Gallery in Los Angeles, Rosson Crow has on display a series of new paintings in a show entitled The Happiest People on Earth. Previews: Swoon – “To Accompany Something Invisible” @ Allouche Gallery

Tonight (April 27th) in New York, Swoon (interviewed) will be opening a new solo entitled To Accompany Something Invisible at Allouche Gallery. The comprehensive new body of work from the Brooklyn-based artist will feature some beautiful installation boxes, prep sketches and preliminary paper cutouts, as well as works on mylar, wood cuts and found objects. Rounding out the show in the Meatpacking District will be a look at elements of her studio practice on opening night including interactive printing demonstrations and paper cutting.
