Streets: The Crystal Ship Festival (Belgium) – Part I

On the 1st of April, the second edition of The Crystal Ship Festival officially started in the Belgian coastal city of Oostende. Openings: Casey Gray – “Double Knotted” @ Hashimoto Contemporary

Last weekend, Double Knotted, Casey Gray’s first solo show with Hashimoto Contemporary opened in San Francisco. The new body of work from the locally-based artist continues his explorations of still life with his unique technique utilizing spray paint and hand-cut masking (check out the video below). Gray’s carefully curated selection of objects are arranged into vibrant compositions, a masterful example being the large 8 x 6 foot showstopper piece. Releases: Aron Wiesenfeld – “Eva” Print

Starting tomorrow (April 6th) at 10 am PST, Aron Wiesenfeld will be releasing a new print entitled Eva. The time-limited edition will be available for 7 days from that point forward for $135. The print has an image size of 20 x 24 inches & a paper size of 23 x 26 inches and features some of the the haunting and atmospheric imagery that the San Deigo-based artist is known for. Releases: Enoc Perez // 1800 Tequila Essential Artist Series

The eighth edition of the Essential 1800 Artist Series features the artwork of Enoc Perez. This annual series was started by 1800 Tequila as a way to showcase art in a non-traditional medium and has featured the artwork of such luminaries as Basquiat and Haring. Recap: Luke Chueh – “Blood On My Hands” @ Secret Fresh Gallery

A couple weeks ago in Manila at Secret Fresh Gallery, Luke Chueh (interviewed) successfully opened his first solo show in the Philippines. The objects are created with repurposed material and are made to look like remains that future archeologists may discover from our time, hence the name. Augustine Kofie’s Building From Memory exhibition concludes this weekend after a five week run at Openspace in Paris. This is the LA-based artist’s third show with the gallery and the title refers to the acquisition and repeated application of knowledge.
