We got a few more sneak peek imagesÂ from the upcoming Invader “Top 10” show opening this Saturday at Jonathan Levine. After our last visit in April, Channel 4 in the UK gives us another opportunity to see Jeff Koons’ studio with this new video. Although you can see many projects Koons is working on with his 100-strong assistant crew, this visit mostly focuses on his first major exhibition in a public gallery in England (Serpentine Gallery on July 2nd). Peep this little preview of “Motion Portrait” by WK Interact. It’s set to open this Saturday at Jonathan Levine Gallery. The French artist, who’s well known for his energetic style, will unveil a large scale group of portraits called “12 Angry Men” (loosely based on the classic film). We love the concept behind this group show opening this Saturday, June 20th, at Sloan Fine Art in NY. “+2” sees 24 artists previously exhibited by Alix Sloan invited to participate in the group show, along with 2 other artists of their choice – hence the plus 2 title. A show that kinda snuck up on us, “Harem,” by Jonathan Viner, opens this Saturday at Sloan Fine Art.Â This body of work is a collection of ten 12″ x 12″ paintings of young Russian women listening dreamily to music with high fidelity headphones.Â Rendered perfectly by Viner, each appear to be in their own world, oblivious to their surroundings. Our number one passion here at AM is art, but music certainly comes in a close second. The “I Gotta Feeling” video from the Black Eyed Peas melds together these two things we love. Stella Im Hultberg (interviewed) recently posted up some preview images from her upcoming July show “Momento Mori” at Thinkspace Gallery.Â “Memento Mori” is a Latin phrase meaning “Remember You Shall Die,” typically used in reminding people of their own mortality, which should give us a little insight into this where Stella is going with this show.Â From these initial pics, there appears to be a maturity to her canvas technique that making us excited about this new body of work. Phillips de Pury has published the catalog for their upcoming London Contemporary Art Evening Sale and there are a few pieces AM would love to see in our collection. Of most significance is the inclusion of a classic montage piece by Barry McGee.
