Preview: Alexandros Vasmoulakis – “Is Everybody Happy?” @ LeBasse Projects

Greek artist Alexandros Vasmoulakis will be coming to Los Angeles for his first US solo show at LeBasse Projects. The show “Is Everybody Happy?” is his latest body of work which contain both canvas and paper works featuring his signature characters. Known for works both inside and out, the talented artist is also expected to work on a large outdoor piece when he visits LA. The show opens this Saturday, March 20th at 7pm. During our recent trip to Basel Week Miami, our friends at Thinkspace introduced us to an artist named Tran Nguyen. From the moment we saw her work, we were hooked. Openings: Nobuyoshi Araki – “Araki: A Perspective” @ Prism

West Hollywood’s fledgling, ambitious, and architecturally magnificent Prism gallery opened its second exhibition this past weekend. Delivering on their promise to show internationally recognized artists, Prism hosted the controversial and legendary Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki, with a selection of about 70 of his works. The Tokyo-based artist is one of Japan’s most accomplished, notable, and respected photographers. His photos explore topics including love and sex and features his wife, Yoko, in much of his work.
