All Cy Twombly sell at new Gagosian in Paris and a rare interview with Larry Gagosian. Qatar, having already bought Harrods and loads of real estate in central London, now might want to buy Christie’s. Why aren’t prominent Los Angeles-based art collectors bequeathing their pieces to museums? Charles […]

Video: Dan Witz – “WTF 2010”

You may remember us posting a piece last Halloween from Dan Witz leading up to his show at Carmichael Gallery. Well, he recently released a video of some of his recent work entitled “WTF 2010”, an updated version of his “In Plain View” and “Kilroy Variations” series and we thought it would again be a fitting time to share it with you. We like the roadwork-like costume he puts on as he glues up scenes of entrapment that would scare anyone coming across it on […]

This giant of the Low Brow movement puts things into perspective by saying “…I’ve been coming to this place (Barnsdall Park) for 47 years and believe me, 10 years ago you couldn’t have this kind of art in this venue. Abstract Expressionism, Conceptualism ruled here until right up until recently. If you come […]

Video: Interview with “Exit Through The Gift Shop” Producer & Editor

An interesting video popped up recently from Viddler where producer Jaimie D’ Cruz and editor Chris King of Banksy’s “Exit Through The Gift Shop” were interviewed. The two of them talk extensively about how the film came about and the background behind all the footage. Hearing this interview may put to rest some to the speculation that the movie was one big hoax, although some people will never be convinced.  Of course, this could all be part of the game but they would have to […]
