Releases: Aryz – “Death of Beauty” Screenprint

Swamped with Basel Week Miami coverage, we’ve almost missed the release of a new print by the Spanish artist Aryz. His latest self produced and self released print is titled Death of Beauty and we were told only few copies are still left unsold. Though known primarily for his unique large murals, Aryz chose a color pencil study as an image for his latest release. Always up for trying new things, and true to the concept of studies and drawings being the most honest form of […]

This is the first major show of her art in the UK and it spans the last 50 years of the multi-disciplinary artist’s practice. Recap: The Hard Rock Stadium Murals (Miami)

After Goldman Global Arts turned Wynwood into one of the world’s street art capitals with Wynwood Walls and other programs, CEO Jessica Goldman Srebnick joined forces with Miami Dolphins team owner Stephen Ross, organizing and curating a mural project as a part of the recent stadium rebranding program. Over the course of several months, a select group of international artists were invited to secretly paint Hard Rock Stadium, helping to create one of the most unique collections of such work worldwide. Using the immense structure as their canvas or […]

Mode 2 opened a new exhibition, Preludes, at Galerie Openspace in Paris last Saturday. The title refers to those moments of heightened anticipation when waiting for something exceptional, like when a beat is about to drop or a B-boy is swaggering onto the stage. The show is divided between four distinct rooms with the work concerned with the ‘universality of music through motion, dancing, writing and visual composition.’ The Mauritian-born artist’s work has its roots in graffiti and strongly references three other elements of hip-hop. However, his […]

Basel Week Miami ’16: NADA Art Fair

If the Art Basel Miami Beach (covered) is considered the main event every year during Basel Week Miami, then NADA Miami Beach is certainly the much-awaited encore (Art Basel typically opens on Weds to VIPs and NADA opens the next morning on Thurs.). It is where new discoveries are more often made, as NADA typically includes younger galleries, with newer programs and fresher artists. It does not focus nearly as much historic or secondary works. In its 14th edition, the fair relocates back to Deuville Beach Resort, from the Fontainebleau Miami Beach […]
