Shepard Fairey x Cleon Peterson – L.A. Public Library Card

Last month, the Los Angeles Public Library unveiled a new card designed by Shepard Fairey and Cleon Peterson. Streets: Pastel // artBGC (Manila)

Francisco Diaz aka Pastel recently spent some time in Manila, Philippines, participating in the second edition of the LeBasse Projects curated and produced artBGC mural festival, creating one of his largest floral murals to date. Titled Calamansi and Sampaguita, the piece is based on ancient local traditions, depicting the plants that have a local symbolism. Openings: “Mint Julep” @ Galleria Patricia Armocida

As part of their pre-summer program, Galleria Patricia Armocida in Milan recently opened a group show titled Mint Julep. Featuring works by Maya Hayuk,  Cleon Peterson, Revok, and  Francesco Igory Deiana, the exhibition opened on May 18th and will stay on view through July 22nd. The idea of this show was to mix artists and their diverse styles into a fresh, attractive installation, similar to a Mint Julep cocktail, made by mixing bourbon, ice, sugar and mint into a refreshing drink. Upcoming: Nychos – “Ikon” @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery

Coming up on June 25th, a new solo from Austrian artist Nychos will be opening at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery. Mirroring his works on the street, Ikon will features a series of paintings with his recognizable cartoonish dissected imagery. From the glimpses revealed on his Instagram, it looks like he will take aim at pop culture icons like Yoda, Darth Vader, Goofy, Knight Rider, Barbie, and Marilyn Monroe. Discuss Nychos here.
