We’ve seen Pejac paint large indoor murals, small street pieces, window drawings, install sculptural works in public, create visual illusions on facades and walls, but we never seen him turn his paintings into reality. On February 20th, a group show including Alex Gardner, Ashley Wood, Ben Sack, DALeast, Fulvio di Piazza, Jamie Adams, Jansson Stegner, João Ruas, Kevin Peterson, Lawrence Berzon, Mear One, Sam Wolfe Connolly and Soey Milk (seen above) will open at Jonathan LeVine Gallery (529 West 20th Street). The diverse list of artists are part of the gallery’s annual Winter Invitational and may portend future collaborations.

This Saturday night (February 20th), Conlusions from Rime (otherwise know as Jersey Joe) will be opening at Jonathan LeVine Gallery at their 529 West 20th Street location in New York. Earlier this month, Roq la Rue hosted it’s first opening of 2016 with Jonathan Viner’s Strange Math. This marks a new less-is-more approach for the Seattle gallery, focusing on one artist a month, with a couple group exhibitions during the year. The show from the Brooklyn-based artist provided a great start to the new year with the large paintings filling the main floor of the gallery. Ever since Ai Weiwei moved to Berlin after Chinese authorities returned his passport in 2015, he’s been actively working towards raising awareness about the refugee crisis that is hitting Europe. Tomorrow (February 14th) from noon-5pm, Jen Stark will be selling some customized pots at the Rob Pruitt Flea Market. The market event from Pruitt has had many iterations in the past with the latest being Sunday in Downtown LA (1019 E 4th Place). Starting this week, artists have been hard at work painting murals for this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii. Beautifying the streets of Kaka’ako in Oahu with their imagery, the participants get to enjoy the tropical weather and throngs of fans as they leave their mark at the annual event.
