Showing: Paco Pomet – “No Places” @ Galleri Benoni

Earlier this month, Galleri Benoni in Copenhagen opened up a solo exhibition from Paco Pomet entitled No Places. The new work continues the Spanish artist’s practice of taking reference photos and then altering them in multiple ways (structural, tonal, compositional), sometimes adding surreal elements, leading to a completely new reality. He further explains his process and the title of his show thusly – “Very often I experience a strong sense of strangeness when I observe scenes described in photographs found at random. This feeling becomes greater the […]

This year’s festival included 13 artists from around the globe, who added their signature marks to an already impressive collection of public art produced throughout the city. Fully aware of the risks of possible oversaturation with large murals, Nuart Festival director and curator, Martyn Reed, made sure the works did […]

Coachella’s Program of International Artist Installations

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, or more popularly referred to as Coachella, is known primarily for its music (and for some, the fashion choices of its guests). Festival-goers discuss and pore over the list of bands, DJs, singers, and other stage acts in determining how good Coachella will or will not be. However, almost as important in the actual experience of the Coachella weekend is the larger than life visual art and installations. This year’s new and returning featured artists include Sofia Enriquez (paisley sculptures), […]

Streets: Nuart Aberdeen 2019 (Part I)

Easter weekend marked the official launch of the third consecutive Nuart Aberdeen. From the media launch yesterday, civic reception at the city hall, sold-out Q&A session with legendary Scottish playwright and artist, John Byrne, the festival’s programme is jam-packed with talks, presentations, debates, and screenings.
