Showing: “Invisible College” @ Fort Wayne Museum of Art

With this being the last week of the Invisible College group exhibition at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, now would be a good time for a recap. Co-curated by Andrew and Shawn Hosner of Los Angeles’ Thinkspace Gallery and Josef Zimmerman from the museum, the title references the fact that many of the artists on the roster didn’t take a traditional art education path to where their careers are now. The show will featured murals and installations from Andrew Schoultz, Brett Amory, Cyrcle, Mark Dean Veca, and Troy Lovegates as well as original works from Adam Caldwell, Adrian Falkner, Alex Yanes, Allison Sommers, Amanda Joseph, Andrew Hem, Brian M. […]

Participants each contributing 16″ […]

Other artists include Aaron Horkey, Aaron Nagel, Adam Caldwell, Alex Yanes, Alexis Diaz, Allison Sommers, Amanda Marie, Amy Sol, Ana […]

Upcoming: Égrégore @ Yves Laroche

Starting on October 30th, Yves Laroche in Montreal will be hosting a massive group exhibition entitled Égrégore. The term refers to a kind of group mind which is created when people consciously come together for a common purpose and was used in relation to the Montreal Surrealists, best known as Les Automatistes in the 40s. The resurrection of the idea in relation to geography and purpose is definitely appropriate to this show which will run through December 20th. Participating artists include SHAG, Van Arno, Anthony Ausgang, Liam […]

Collections: Mark Parker

AM has been to the offices of Mark Parker before as well as talked to many artists that he has commissioned in the past so we can attest to the epicness of his art collection. Obscura Magazine recently released some photos they took in the Nike CEO’s new workspace where we spy the works of artists like Mark Ryden, Dalek, Kris Kuksi, Riusuke Fukahori, Alex Gross and more. We know this is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of his collection so hopefully there will […]

Openings: “Space//Form” @ Breeze Block Gallery (Part 2)

Following directly on from Part 1 of our coverage of the busy Space//Form opening, AM now delves a little deeper pictorially into the artwork created for this huge group exhibition of 110 artists with a series of pictures where the art is more viewable (like the Mark Dean Veca installation above). To recap, all of the participating artists were given an identical 10×10 inch cradled timber panel by exhibition sponsor Ampersand as the medium to work on. The exhibition curator, Arrested Motion’s Sven Davis chose a brief […]
