Tomorrow (November 10) between 11am-1pm, James Jean (interviewed) will be signing and releasing the Mickey & Minnie Mouse limited edition sculpture set at BAIT Los Angeles to celebrate the 90th birthday of the two Disney cartoons. On October 9th at 8 AM PDT, James Jean (interviewed) will be releasing the catalog for his show last year at Kaikai Kiki Gallery. Azimuth will include the artwork, installation photos, and process images from the exhibition in Japan, as well as ancillary works created in the same period. Last weekend, the Marciano Art Foundation opened an new expansive show from Ai Weiwei, his first major institutional exhibition in Los Angeles. Entitled Life Cycle, the showing includes old and new pieces, as well as a reworking of older concepts and techniques from the Chinese artist. Entitled Electric Ritual, the currently showing selection of new paintings from Todd James is his third solo (see 2010, 2015) with Alice Gallery in Brussel. The vibrant new pieces from the New York-based artist continue his explorations of interiors while including some signature elements like his curvaceous nudes, war planes, and vivid color palette. Entitled Sun Tarot, this time-limited giclee comes with gold foil accents and custom designed embossments and of course will be signed and numbered.
