Futura x Hennessy Launch Party (Los Angeles)

Last night, Hennessy held the Los Angeles premiere (see NY launch here) of the VS cognac bottle designed by Futura at an exclusive launch party held at the Milk Studios in Hollywood. Preview: Group Exhibition @ David B. Smith Gallery

After a short hiatus, the David B. Streets: Wall Therapy Festival (Part II) – Faith47

A couple days ago, we shared with you the mural that DALeast painted for the Wall Therapy Festival in Rochester, New York. His partner in crime, Faith47 was also on hand as she painted her own wall for the event. Streets: Olek (Washington DC)

While in town for the 40 Under 40: Craft Futures showing at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Olek decided to gift the city with one of her signature yarn statue takeovers (here & here). This time she yarn-bombed the 12-foot tall Albert Einstein statue on the grounds of the National Academy of Sciences in Washington DC. Openings: REVOK – “Gilgamesh” @ Known Gallery

Not only did Known Gallery host an opening reception from SABER (interviewed) on Saturday night (covered), the Los Angeles showspace also featured new works from REVOK in a joint exhibition. Entitled Gilgamesh, the collection of intricately assembled sculptural pieces represent a carefully selected montage of found materials garnered from the slowly decaying areas of Detroit, REVOK’s current city of choice and source of inspiration.
