The Montresso Foundation in Marrakesh, Morocco is currently wrapping up their latest group exhibition which was on view from April 16th to May 31st. Following up their XXL # 1 show in December 2017, XXL # 2 once again consisted of groundbreaking works by four emblematic artists representing the global urban culture. Currently through Social Animals, JR, Os Gemeos, and Pharrell have a followup release to their BOOMBOX sculptural edition from last year (covered). 1983 – The Album (12″ vinyl) features four exclusive tracks by Pharrell & OsG, as well as the artwork from the twins and a photo taken by JR of Pharrell in the packaging as well as in a print. There is a simple and deluxe edition of this collaborative effort, both of which along with the BOOMBOX can be purchased here.

Coming up on June 23rd, Ben Tolman will be opening a new show of his incredibly detailed drawings at Jonathan LeVine Projects in New Jersey. The American artist’s artistic vision takes Escher-like influences and combines with them a urban sensibility as well as surreal elements, leading to frenetic compositions that overwhelm the eye in a way that’s uniquely his own. Between the 9th and 15th of May, Peter Opheim held a show at Hankyu Umeda Gallery in Osaka, Japan, as a part of a larger project called New York Art. The showcase is organized by the HPGRP Gallery Tokyo/New York and is his third solo presentation this year after exhibitions in Taipei and Moscow. Recently, Augustine Kofie (featured) teamed up with AiseBorn to paint an outstanding new mural at the former Rendon Hotel in Los Angeles. The harmonious joint effort on the 7th Street facade between the two locally-based artists was aided by the common elements that can be seen in their work like geometrical patterns, architectural influences, and a background in graffiti.
