Previews: Low Bros – “98 Windows” @ Mirus Gallery

German art duo Low Bros will be taking over Mirus Gallery in San Francisco starting the 13th of April with their new body of work titled 98 Windows. Fitting perfectly with their recognizable retro-futuristic aesthetics, the new show continues their exploration of human interaction and connectedness through familiar elements of a once popular operational system. Through their new dynamic pieces, the brothers are playing with social psychology while replacing the human aspect with their signature character, the wolf. Using the concepts and structure of Windows […]

Aside from beautifying the streets of Aberdeen, Nuart will be […]

Showing: Seth Globepainter – “Like Child’s Play” @ MoCA Shanghai

Continuing to cultivate his longstanding love for Chinese culture and interest in working in China, Seth Globepainter opened up a show at MoCA Shanghai last month entitled Like Child’s Play. As referenced by the title, the exhibition is centered around the French artist’s signature child characters featuring paintings, wall murals, clever installations, sculptural pieces, and photos of the 17 murals he painted in the surrounding city of children playing with iconic Chinese toys. While innocent on the surface, Seth’s works often touch on series issues as […]

Previews: ProjectArt – “My Kid Could Do That” @ Underground Museum

Your favorite artist was once a kid, spending her or his free time in recess and after-school doodling and crafting away, dreaming of one day becoming the successful artist that they have grown to become. Some of them even had proud parents that kept their childhood work or had the foresight to keep their grade and high school masterpieces. This week at The Underground Museum in Los Angeles, you have the rare opportunity to view these rare works by such well-known now-adults, including Barry McGee, […]

After shows with Heath Ceramics in 2014 (in LA) and 2015 (in SF), Brendan Monroe (interviewed) will be returning for another exhibition at the Los Angeles location starting Saturday night (April 7th). Entitled Formations, some of the new body of work will be a little different than his sculptural pieces in the past as he has decided to explore Heath tile’s flat clay surface as a new medium. Molding the surface, making it more dimensional, Monroe has created a series of pieces that feature his organic patterns and […]

Streets: Pejac – (New York) – Part II

After sharing one of the pieces yesterday that Pejac painted while in New York recently, we now have photos of the other brilliant piece he created in Bushwick (27 Scott Ave). Entitled Fossil, the mural really shows off the skills of the Spanish artist in creating optical illusions. Merely by adding shadow effects and by accentuating selected existing bricks on the wall in Brooklyn, he was able to construct the ghostly memory of a tree, referencing how parts of nature are gradually going extinct with […]

Previews: Jonas Wood – “Prints” @ Gagosian (New York)

Opening tonight at the 976 Madison Avenue location of Gagosian Gallery in New York will be the first survey of prints from Jonas Wood. Drawing from over fifty limited edition prints produced between 2004 and 2018, the exhibition will have the Los Angeles-based artist’s oeuvre well represented from ceramics that are often based on the work of his wife, sculptor Shio Kusaka, to the sports inspired pieces, to the domestic landscapes of plants, everyday objects, and vases. Coinciding with the exhibition will be a selection of objects and an installation […]
