Streets: Banksy @ Glastonbury 2010

Glastonbury, the largest open-air music and performing arts festival in the world, opened last week in the UK. Along with a long and diverse list of music acts like the Pet Shop Boys, Snoop Dogg, Shakira, Norah Jones, Gorillaz, Mos Def, Stevie Wonder and Willie Nelson among many others, artists well known to us were on hand to throw up pieces all around the venue. One of these was none other than Banksy with this piece on the perimeter. More images after the jump…

Art Basel Switzerland 2010 – Part 2

As promised, we continue our coverage of Art Basel Switzerland 2010 by bringing you images of the contemporary works in the fair. Of course, almost all of today’s leading artists were represented at the show, making it literally a who’s who of the contemporary art scene. As with fairs in the recent past, Ed Ruscha seemed to be very hot, with his significant pop-text pieces popping up at several booths. Another artist that was perhaps even more highly visible at the show was American painter […]

Openings: “Not Quite Open for Business” @ The Hole

Earlier last week we gave you a sneak preview of the gallery space that is likely to contend as the heir apparent to the famed Deitch Projects. Upon closer inspection we noticed it was Pinocchio reworked in a style that only KAWS could do. Next to it was a museum info card: “Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket, 2010 – Produced by Medicom Toy, Copyright Disney”. The million dollar […]

The  exhibition at the Otis College of Art and Design is a ten-year retrospective looking back at Todd’s illustrious career since his move to Los Angeles, and as such, featured many paintings, […]
