Preview: “Come As You Are” @ Prism Gallery

Looks like Prism Gallery is about to drop some bombs on LA. This Thursday, they are hosting the opening (7-9pm) of “Come As You Are”. This group show has a line-up of heavy hitters like Os Gemeos, Kelsey Brookes, Clare Rojas, Clayton Brothers, Cleon Peterson, Susanne Melanie Berry, Richard Colman, Cheryl Dunn, Dennis Hopper, Craig Steeyk, Deanna Templeton and Ed Templeton. Last Saturday night saw the grand opening of San Francisco’s newest and very highly anticipated art space, Guerrero Gallery (previewed). AM happened upon this good looking pop-up show at the Dray Walk Gallery in London’s Truman Brewery complex this week organised by the freshly formed Lava Collective. Lava brought over Brooklyn residents Peru Ana Ana Peru for their first showing of work in the UK, and their installation dominated the huge space. Saturday night, AM attended the opening of Joshua Liner Gallery’s summer group exhibition, which collects solid works from a very strong roster of artists, some of whom the gallery has shown previously and others of whom the gallery is working with for the first time. From the show, it is clear that Liner is actively evolving and maturing his gallery. And from the response from collectors and others at the opening, it seems that what he’s doing is working.
