Openings: Josh Keyes & Neil M. Perry – “Entwined” @ Antler Gallery

Last month, the the Antler Gallery in Portland opened a joint exhibition between Josh Keyes (interviewed) and Neil M. Perry entitled Entwined. The showing highlighted how both artists were in tune with nature with their work, focusing on the interplay between species and the surrounding environment, often rendered with surreal elements. Basel Week HK ’14 / Previews: Ryan McGinley @ Galerie Perrotin (Hong Kong)

Timed to coincide with the week of Art Basel Hong Kong, the local branch of Galerie Perrotin will be exhibiting new works from Ryan McGinley. Vertical Color of Sound will open on May 13th and feature twelve large-scale photographs taken in his annual summer road trip with his friends and crew, where he shoots the models nude in natural settings. With the release scheduled for next month (June 17th), it’s time to tell you about James Jean’s (interviewed) latest project – working on Linkin Park ‘s new album artwork. If you remember, he also created Taleb Kweli’s cover art back in 2012. Andrew Schoultz recently worked with StreetArtNews.net on a new low edition print release titled Sing The Troubled Beast.” Known for his rich imagery made of repeating elements, this 100% archival giclee is an explosion of everything he’s been known for – from kneeling characters, thick trees, monsters, leaves, logs, bricks and clouds to his signature colors that include black, gold, red and blue.
