Dran opened a new pop-up exhibition in London over the weekend entitled Dessin du Jour. As the title suggests, the body of work is dominated by approximately 120 drawings which the artist has been executing on a daily basis in preparation for the show. The pieces individually distill down the small victories and defeats, dreams and doubts and joys and sorrows of everyday life. After almost six years silence from solo shows, broken only with an unusual, performance art exhibition at POW in London (covered), Adda Gallery in Brussels recently opened the long awaited exhibition by Dran. On June 11th, Adda Gallery in Brussels will be opening a solo show by the Dran. Members of the French street-art collective Da Mental Vaporz are currently in Berlin, working hard on their upcoming collaborative exhibition, The Wall, opening on the 26th of May at BC gallery. The show will include a display of works in the two spaces of the gallery, as well as two large public murals that can be seen in the surrounding area. We’ve been following the Da Mental Vaporz crew in Australia as they are currently showing at Rtist Gallery. Combining a patchwork of their different styles, the DMV crew consisting of Bom-K, Blo, Brusk, Dran, Gris1, ISO, Jaw, Kan, and Sowat just completed an imaginary bestiary on a four-storey building in the heart of Chinatown, making it the largest graffiti mural of Melbourne.
