Another week, another selection of great public art from around the world. This week’s Streets World Roundup, the last of 2012, is headlined by a new piece from Martin Ron (in collaboration with Frederico Ron) entitled Lujuan Pedro and His Dog (source). The mural was painted for the Meeting of Styles event in Buenos Aires, held in the Barracas district. Streets: World Roundup (Oct 29 – Nov 4)

This week’s Streets: World Roundup feature is headlined by a new mural (photo by Lois Stavsky) in New York City by Ron English, who worked overtime to finish it before Hurricane Sandy hit. The piece (on Mulberry Street between Canal and Hester in New York’s Little Italy) depicting his Temper Tot character is a English’s first mural in Manhattan in about 25 years as part of The New York Comedy Festival and Vandalog’s series of indoor and outdoor installations collectively titled The Art of Comedy. Streets: World Roundup (Oct 15 – Oct 21)

We lead off this week’s review of street art with a new mural from Roa in Puerto Rico. Painted for the Los Muros Hablan Festival, the Belgium-based muralist rendered a giant Iguana (an invasive pest there, chewing up plants and crops and burrowing under roads and dikes) holding a Coquí, a small frog endemic to the island.
