Previews: Interesni Kazki – “Inter Arma Silent Musae” @ Studio Cromie

Ukrainian art duo Interesni Kazki are currently in Italy where they are adding the final touches to their newest body of work for the upcoming Inter Arma Silent Musae show with Studio Cromie. The show opens on the 12th of July. The turbulent situation in their homeland caused the artists to put their works on hold and literally stop creating new art. The strong tension during the revolution and the pre-war surroundings just stopped their creative energy, and forced them to put down their brushes and paint […]

Releases: Waone x AEC / Interesni Kazki @ The Outsiders

After a few months since they first mentioned their upcoming intaglio etching editions, Ukrainian art duo Interesni Kazki has just announced the release of these long awaited prints. Known for their hyper-surrealistic imagery and large fairy tale-like murals they’ve been creating all over the globe, Waone and AEC worked separately on each of their prints, and sent us a couple of preview images of the finished works. Based on their drawings “In Forests Wilds”, by Waone, and “Music Of The Night”, by AEC, both editions are […]

Streets: Interesni Kazki (India)

As much as they are known for their colorful, fairy tale like, surrealistic murals, paintings and illustrations, Ukrainian art duo Interesni Kazki (interviewed) are also known for their love for traveling, especially to remote, more spiritual regions of the world. Taking inspiration from local traditions, beliefs and different lifestyles, AEC and Waone recently spent time traveling through India again. During their travels, they stayed in the Kerala aka Keralam region, a state in the south-west region of India on the Malabar coast, where they created a couple […]

Streets: Waone (Interesni Kazki) in India

Waone, a member of Interesni Kazki (interviewed) together with AEC, recently spent some time in the South India. Known for his love for travels and appreciating ancient cultures and traditions, the Ukrainian artist left an unusual mark in this remote part of the world. The mural he created is not as nearly as big or complex as the other walls we’re used to seeing  from this duo, but the message behind it is very powerful. Titled Time For Change, this mural is strongly affected by the worrying […]

Showing: “Timeline” @ Underdogs Gallery

The year is coming to a close and as with any year’s passing we tend to stop and reflect. In doing so, we can certainly say this was the year of the Underdogs. And by Underdogs, we mean a band of art activists turning Lisbon upside down with one large scale mural project after another, rivaling cities five times its population. The year ending show at the Underdogs Gallery appropriately titled TIMELINE takes pause to celebrate not only the year’s incredible accomplishments, but the the marking of […]
