Gary Baseman and Corey Helford Gallery pulled out all the stops for last night’s Carnivale-style extravaganza celebrating “La Noche de la Fusion” (covered), Baseman’s solo return to Los Angeles in over two years. Berlin-based stencil artist BOXI made his United States solo show debut with â€œGrey Areaâ€ (previewed) which opened this past Thursday at Carmichael Gallery. The Kehinde Wiley show opened last night to a packed house at Roberts & Tilton in the Culver City Art District. New Image Art packed the house last night with their “American Realities” group show featuring the work of Barry McGee, working under the pseudonym Lydia Fong, his wife Clare Rojas, and their long-time friend and collaborator Andrew Jeffrey Wright.
