Portugese artist Vhils recently opened a new solo show at Galerie Magda Danysz in Paris. Entitled Vestiges, the exhibition showcases his various unique techniques in which he engraves portraits and abstract patterns onto cork, metal, wood and paper. Using these techniques, Vhils continues to explore the ideas of destruction and creation within urban environments and the collective memory of city inhabitants. Check out images from the show below. We popped by the studio of Ludo (interviewed) in Paris as he prepares for his London solo show The Chaos Theory at Lazarides Rathbone. Pejac (introduced) recently visited Paris and left a several new pieces scattered around the city. We just got these images of the last three pieces he did there, and even though quite different in their concept and style, they are examples of his wittiness and talent. Using just a basic color palette (mostly black and white) with minimal intervention onthe surface he is painting on, the Spanish artist achieves strong pieces both aesthetically and conceptually. LUDO (interviewed) is currently back home in Paris, spending long days creating new works for his upcoming London solo show at his studio, and pasting up public works on early weekend mornings. Over the past weekend, he created this double billboard piece on the streets of the French capital, taking up the advertising space while propagating his imagery. It looks like WK Interact (featured) has hit Europe again. After knocking out a towering mural in Belgium last month, the New York-based French artist returns to his homeland to build a patriotic mural at the La Géode in Paris to commemorate the 70th anniversary of D-Day (Check out a his previous visit to Paris). Earlier this week, graffiti legend Futura created new work for a Paris show at Magda Danysz Gallery entitled Introspective. Drawing from many of the series of works that have defined his career, the NYC-based artist presented street influenced abstractions, figurative work featuring his pointman character, and paintings that included his famous atom motif. LUDO (interviewed) spent the last weekend putting up new series of pasteups around his hometown of Paris, titled Love and Riot.
