Releases: Greg “Craola” Simkins – “The Gobbler” Print

Halloween is barely over and Greg “Craola” Simkins (featured) is already looking to Thanksgiving, or did he just combine both? The Gobbler is a 20″ x 20″ print just released by the Los Angeles-based artist and is a fine example of his surrealistic artistic vision. Releases: Nettie Wakefield Prints

Nettie Wakefield recently released three new limited prints of her pencil and ink drawings, available in a very low edition of only 10. Best known for her series of reverse portraits that were included in Banksy’s Dismaland (covered), the London-based artist started drawing strangers in tube stations after her Masters degree a few years ago and still enjoys doing them. Releases / Signings: Lisa Yuskavage – “The Brood” Book

Tonight (7pm) at Strand Books in New York, Lisa Yuskavage will be launching her comprehensive new monograph – The Brood. Released through David Zwirner Books, whose associated gallery she showed at back in June (covered), the 242 page hardcover features work from 1991 – 2015. Streets / Releases: Saber x Zes (Los Angeles) & Originals

Like they did in 2014 (covered), the AWR/MSK affiliated SABER (interviewed) and ZES recently collaborated on another impressive mural in Los Angeles, this time at the American Tea Room building. The piece in Downtown was made possible with special thanks to Montana Colors USA, The Seventh Letter, as well as Branded Arts and is another example of the locally-based writers’ synergistic artistic energy. Releases: Joe Ledbetter – “Totem” Multi-Dimensional Print

Earlier today, Joe Ledbetter released a new multi-dimensional print through Prints On Wood entitled Totem. Standing over two feet tall, the edition consists of two double sided prints on wood that intersect, forming a stack of the Los Angeles-based artist’s iconic characters. Releases: Sail – “Sagari” Print

Recently, Sail (featured) released a new print entitled Sagari online through Out Of Step Arts. The image was taken from a piece the Pacific Northwest-based artist contributed to the 4th Annual Supersonic Invitational Show. The painting was inspired by the ghost of horses left to die where they fall with the spirit caught in the trees as it rises from the body as referred to by the title. Releases: Mars-1 – “Mars Molecule Collection”

Coinciding with his current exhibition at Heron Arts in San Francisco, Mars-1 (featured) has released a set of bronze sculptures titled Mars Molecule Collection that mirror the large scale pieces in the show. The sculpts are three dimensional representations of the SF-based artist organic otherworldly paintings and were first revealed in this year’s Burning Man. Releases: Esao Andrews / Contrast 15: Emotional Connection

Those interested in the gothic surreal imagery of Esao Andrews might want to get their hands on a copy of Contrast Magazine. The latest issue features a nice full color cover with one of the Los Angeles-based artist’s reoccurring images, various iterations of a ghostly ship. Inside the Hawaii-based publication you will find a nice spread of Andrews’ work along with a lengthy interview.
