Before leaving for Art HK a couple months ago, we stopped by for the opening of Streets of the World presented by Opera Gallery. This grouping included an all-star cast of street & urban artists exhibiting in the heart of New York’s Soho district. Our Streets: World Roundup feature returns this week with a summary of murals you may have missed out on. Our highlighted piece this time is this monster collaboration from REVOK and RIME of MSK fame for the Detroit Beautification Project. For our summary of walls this week, we have for you as our featured wall – REYES in Detroit. The motor city has become one of the hotspots for street activity recently as the tanking economy has ironically led to more abandoned buildings facilitating the rise of public art. Streets: London’s largest mural by Agents of Change

With the sun shining and scaffolding removed, wraps have come off London’s largest graffiti mural, covering two sides of a six-storey building in King’s Cross. Members of the Agents of Change crew with London based Remi/Rough, Edinburgh’s Steve More, LX.One from Paris, LA-based Augustine Kofie created this colourful geometrical artwork using over 500 litres of spray paint. To start off our summary of walls this week, we get news that Ludo has been in Paris getting some new fake xray ads like this piece with a hand skeleton seen inside a mosquito. Other walls seen after the jump include a collaboration between Remi/Rough and LX One (Miami), Ethos (Sydney), Liqen (Mexico), Know Hope (Miami), Ever (Miami), Kid Zoom (Australia), Anthony Lister (Australia), Agostino (Italy), Merge Invisible (Hungary), and 2-Hands (Portugal).

Basel Week Miami ’11 / Streets: Remi/Rough for Graffuturism

We passed by the Kohn Compound yesterday as we strolled through the Wynwood District in Miami and came across Remi/Rough working on one of outer walls and gate. The UK-based street artist was prepping for the In Situ show put on by Graffuturism tonight featuring post-graffiti abstraction for those interested. It’s time for another roundup of the new walls this week here on AM. Although not exactly immediately recent, this mural from Mesa in particular caught our eye. Currently in residence at Newcastle’s Unit 44 gallery space, Remi/Rough and Stormie Mills are putting together the work for their collaborative exhibition entitled Selected Moments.
